As updates on the impact of the coronavirus continue to be released, we want to take a moment to inform you of the heightened preventative measures we have put in place at Western Washington CTC Cluster to keep our patients, their families, and our employees safe. All efforts are guided by and in adherence to the recommendations distributed by the CDC.

In adherence to the social distancing recommendations provided by the CDC, we have implemented strict protocols at our clinic to ensure the safety of our patients and staff.

  • Patients who have active symptoms of illness or a fever of 100 degrees or higher must call ahead to arrange after-hours dosing.
  • The number of people allowed inside the building at any given time is restricted based on county, state, and federal guidelines.
  • The number of people waiting in line is restricted based on county, state, and federal guidelines, and those present must maintain a minimum distance of six feet from one another.
  • To maintain line restrictions, patients are asked to wait in their cars until direction is given.

For specific information regarding these changes and limitations, please contact us directly.

Please note that for the safety of our patients, their families, and our staff, there are certain restrictions in place regarding on-site visitation at Western Washington CTC Cluster.

  • These restrictions have been implemented in compliance with updated corporate and state regulations to further reduce the risks associated with COVID-19.
  • Alternate methods of communication for other services may be offered when deemed clinically appropriate.

For specific information regarding these changes and limitations, please contact us directly.

CDC updates are consistently monitored to ensure that all guidance followed is based on the latest information released.

  • Thorough disinfection and hygiene guidance is provided.
  • Patient care supplies such as masks and hand sanitizer are monitored and utilized.

The safety of our patients, their families, and our employees is our top priority, and we will remain steadfast in our efforts to reduce any risk associated with COVID-19.

Benefits of Individual Therapy

Benefits of Individual Therapy for Opioid Abuse

Individuals struggling with an addiction have to overcome both the physical and emotional components associated with both the use of the substance, as well as withdrawal from the substance once that use comes to an end. Since addiction is not just simply the physical act of using the drug, it is imperative that individuals understand the root causes of their use and addiction. By understanding what caused one to start using, patients are able to work towards effective and safe ways to overcome challenges without resorting back to substances. Individual therapy is an extremely beneficial tool for patients to incorporate into their treatment. Individual therapy takes place in a one-on-one setting between a patient and a trained counselor. Individuals struggling with an addiction to morphine, prescription medications, and heroin have found the following benefits through the use of individual therapy:

  • Recognizing traumatic events that previously took place that may have aided in the desire to begin abusing substances
  • Developing new viewpoints regarding the apparent and motivating causes of substance abuse/addiction
  • Creating healthy skills for managing stress as well as harmful emotions
  • Dealing with both setbacks and successes during the course of treatment
  • Creating new strategies for handling future situations in which the use of drugs might be present and alluring
  • Developing individual goals for both the present and future

By truly understanding one’s own emotions, feelings, behaviors, and the causes behind the use of substances, individuals are able to prepare themselves for a healthy, drug-free future. Individual therapy allows patients to openly discuss their feelings, as well as gain a sense of support through their therapeutic relationship with their counselor.

Patients who receive individual therapy are more likely to experience the following in addition to the previously mentioned benefits:

  • An increase in self-confidence
  • An improvement in self-esteem
  • Lowered levels of stress
  • An increased sense of self-awareness
