Proudly serving Washington, our methadone clinics provide adults struggling with addiction the ability to recover from heroin, oxycodone, Percocet, and other opiates.
Therapeutic Treatments for Opioid Abuse
At Western Washington Comprehensive Treatment Centers, we understand that medication alone is not enough to enable a person to overcome an opioid addiction. Methadone, Subutex, and similar medications have essential roles to play in eliminating drug cravings and alleviating withdrawal symptoms, but a truly comprehensive treatment program must also account for the emotional and psychological factors that may have contributed to or been impacted by a person’s abuse of opioids.
Therapeutic Interventions for Opioid Abuse
The experienced professionals at Western Washington Comprehensive Treatment Centers are dedicated to providing the therapeutic services that will not only help our patients end their self-defeating abuse of opioids, but will also empower them to address the emotional pain or psychological distress that can derail progress, promote relapse, and ultimately undermine their efforts to achieve long-term recovery.
The therapeutic support that patients receive at Western Washington Comprehensive Treatment Centers allows them to explore and understand the many ways that opioid addiction has impacted their lives. Perhaps more importantly, therapy helps our patients develop the skills and strategies that will allow them to deal with past damage in a healthy manner, while they learn how to prevent future harm.
For patients at Western Washington Comprehensive Treatment Centers, this type of personal growth is encouraged via two types of therapy:
- Individual therapy – One-on-one sessions with a counselor provides patients with a safe and supportive environment in which to evaluate their progress, celebrate successes, and process setbacks. Individual sessions help to ensure that patients are taking the steps they need to achieve their treatment goals, and that they are properly preparing themselves for successful long-term recovery.
- Group therapy – Led by a qualified professional, group sessions allow patients to learn from the experiences of others who are in similar situations, while also sharing their own insights and understandings with fellow patients. Among their many benefits, group therapy sessions are excellent opportunities for individuals in recovery to develop and enhance skills related to productive communication and healthy relationships.
The counselors who conduct individual and group therapy sessions at Western Washington Comprehensive Treatment Centers are trained professionals who have specific expertise with the unique challenges faced by individuals who are struggling to overcome addictions to opioids. Because we place a premium on providing personalized care, the level and frequency of a patient’s participation in individual and group therapy will depend upon an ongoing assessment of his or her unique needs.
